Anushka is an actor as well as a producer in Bollywood. She has been awarded numerous acting prizes and is considered to be one of the top-paid actors. Anushka Sharma was born on 1st May 1988, Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. Her parents were Kumar Sharma & Ashima Sharma. Anushka's father, a former colonel was Anushka. Her mother works as household worker. The elder brother of Anushka Karnesh Sharma was a member of the Merchant Navy and now is an actor. Anushka has a Masters of Arts Degree in the field of Economics. Anushka was hoping to be either a model or journalist rather than an actor. Anushka, after completing her degree in Mumbai, enrolled at Elite Model Management. She was taught by stylist Prasad Bidapa. Anushka was first seen as a model in 2017 in Wendell Rodricks Les Vamps Show during Lakme Fashion Week. He selected her to be his final model for the Spring/Summer 2007 Collection. Since her debut as a model during Lakme Fashion Week Anushka did various campaigns for companies like her campaigns for the brands' Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry and Fiat Palio etc. Anushka started auditioning films and enrolled in an acting school in addition to her work as model. Anushka began her career acting in the year 2008 in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi with Shah Rukh Khan. The actress took time to get ready and did not do the test impromptu. Then she was signed for three films under Yash Raj Films banner. She portrayed the bride, who was young and married to a man in middle in age (the role that Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka appeared alongside Shahid Kapoor, Vi Das Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das and Meiyang Chang in the 2010 movie "Badmash Company". This movie was met with mixed reviews. Anushka appeared alongside Ranveer in the movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat' in which she portrayed an Punjabi middle class woman who started her own business. The movie received a great reception and became a sleeper. Anushka has completed her 3-film contract together with Yash Raj Films after Band Baaja Baaraat.
